Replace with a spreadsheet

Paste CSV from a spreadsheet, or drop a .csv file here. It replaces the whole tree.

Spreadsheet layout
  • One person per row. The first row is headers.
  • The column a name is in shows where they go. Column A is the oldest ancestor. The next column to the right is their spouse, then their children go one column further right on the rows below.
  • Rows for a couple's children come right after the spouse's row. A person with a second marriage gets a second spouse row after the first family.
  • A Birth Year column and a Married Year column go after the name columns. Both are optional.
  • m. before a spouse's name is ignored. Use ? for an unknown spouse.

The easiest start is the template. Open it in Google Sheets, Numbers or Excel, replace the names, then export as CSV.

History

A version is saved at most every 5 minutes while the tree changes, and just before an import or a restore. All are kept for 2 days, then one an hour for a month, then one a day.

Manage users

Everyone gets their own link. It works on any number of their devices. Send it to them however you like; anyone with it can sign in as them, so if a link gets passed on, make a new one.

Delete this tree

Everyone loses it, with all its history. This can't be undone. Download a copy first (Import & export) if you might want it back.
